A function was organised at Tetavali by Vyakti Vikas Kendra, India and Hariyali to felicitate the donors and patrons of Tetavali project, on 2nd October 2019.
Mrs.Amruta Phadanvis was the chief guest. The guest arrived at sharp 2:30 pm. Dr. Mrs. Neelima Kulkarni welcomed and introduced the guest. The students of Shri Shri Ravishankar School, Mulund then presented a skit with the message for afforestation. Chief Guest then felicitated the representatives of about 10 corporate donors with certificate of appreciation. The labourers working at the site were also felicitated. Our esteemed guest her speech appreciated the work done by Hariyali and VVKI. Mr.Satish Athalye , proposed a vote of thanks. The program ended with National Anthem. Mrs. Phadanvis was keen on taking round at the site. She appreciated the work done by Hariyali and VVKI. She also planted a tree.

About the project

Forest department, VVKI and NGO Hariyali have tripartite lease agreement and are working together for this 33 acres land (project). This project of creating man made forest in near urban area started in 2017. The project is unique because it is been executed with the help of public participation. In last 3 years 14,000 plus endemic plants are planted with participation of about 6000 volunteers from schools and colleges, corporate offices, nature clubs, other NGOs and nature lovers. Over 10 corporate entities have joined together hands in this project.65% of the plantation area is brought under drip irrigation system and survival rate is about 90%. dams and bandharas are constructed for the purpose of water conservation and utilisation. All plants are tagged and approx. 1000 are geo-tagged. The site has invited butterflies, birds, and other forms of wild life making it a healthy ecosystem
